Who doesn't love some wholesome weekend cafe hopping-slash-brunch sessions with friends and family? If you're on the hunt for some toasty eggs benedict and other delicacies in between, we've collated the best brunch places to make a bang for your buck.

In our humble opinion, brunch is one of those social meals that spawned from #adulting. Breakfast is too early because it is a cardinal sin to wake up at 7am on a weekend, and since lunch usually drags on till late afternoon, it’s difficult to plan a gym session or run errands later in the day.

But that's what makes brunch sessions so enjoyable; you get to sleep in till 10am and share delectable mains with your favourite people, before dispersing to your respective schedules for the remainder of the day.

So, if you’re looking for a nice brunch place that serves up Insta-worthy plates or a boozy hotel brunch buffet, here are 15 great weekend brunch ideas to consider.

Wild Honey

The grandfather of all brunch places, and the one that made breakfast for dinner acceptable in Singapore, Wild Honey has been around for as long as we can remember.

You may raise an eyebrow or two at their prices, but rest assured that you’re getting your money’s worth. Here, servings are larger than usual. So, technically, you could order two mains to share if you’re visiting as a party of three or four.

Their menu spreads (across both outlets) are remarkable, consisting of meat, fish, vegetarian, sweets, cereals, fruits, sandwiches, and dessert selections. For instance, the Tunisian comprising spicy shakshuka, chorizo, eggs, brioche bread, and salad is sure to awaken your senses (if you're still half-asleep).

For our vegetarians, their Flinder's Lane (mallawach, poached eggs, grilled asparagus) will leave you wanting more or you can opt for a classic choice like a breakfast burrito.

What’s really impressive is that even though it’s been around for so long, Wild Honey has managed to maintain their standards, regardless of the store you visit, without skimping on portion or quality.

Common Man Coffee Roasters

The unmistakable scent of freshly-brewed coffee and the familiar clang of a busy cafe. Walking into Common Man Coffee Roasters is like stepping into a cafe in Australia or Korea.

You can expect good coffee here, but what really makes them stand out from the rest is their food menu. Common Man Coffee Roasters tries to put a lighter and healthier spin on classic brunch items, so expect dishes like sauteed kale with egg white scramble, organic eggs Benedict, crab salad and warm Asian grain bowl here.

The best part about this brunch gourmet spread is that it's served all day. So you can walk in any time before closing to gouge down on a satiating full breakfast platter without any qualms.

The only downside is that they do not accept reservations (even for larger groups), so be prepared to queue.

Toby’s Estate

If coffee is life and you can’t fathom starting a day without a good cuppa, then you’ll have to plan a visit to Toby’s Estate.

Just how serious are they with coffee?

Well, its bar is tended by world-ranked baristas and championship judges, and their beans are roasted on-site. Apart from your usual lattes, cappuccinos and long blacks, Toby’s Estate offers coffee aficionados the option to have their single origin coffee of the day brewed via siphon, chemex, Espro Press, Woodneck V60 dripper. How’s that for serious?

Once brewed, couple your aromatic coffee with some scrumptious all-day breakfast mains like their brekkie of champions, eggs Benedict (in Brooklyn or Rodyk style), classic avocados on toast, granola, and bircher muesli oats.

Otherwise, their hearty quinoa/rice bowls and lunch pastas or burgers should fill you up quite nicely too.

A part of Atlas Coffeehouse, Columbus Coffee Co. is centrally located along Upper Thomson Road — a short five-minute walk from the famous Thomson Roti Prata store.

Following its recent re-opening, they've introduced a selection of Japanese-inspired dishes that's making our mouths water just by looking at it. For instance, the ingredients used in their unagi don consists of grilled unagi, ikura, burnt buttered corn, furikake, nori, and Japanese rice. If that doesn't sound appetising to you, we don't know what does!

The Neptune

Loved Columbus Coffee Co. and Atlas Coffeehouse? We have one more brunch spot in store for you operated by the same crew.

Located in the idyllic, gentrified but culture-filled streets of Katong, patronise Neptune cafe for some delicious brunch offerings. And of course, since Neptune is the Roman god of seas and water, it's only befitting that you put their seafood dishes to the test.

For the poke bowl lovers out there, their salmon and tuna poke bowl mixed with orange slices, miso shallot vinaigrette with a side of crispy crackers looks heavenly. Or perhaps, their tuna quinoa bowl accompanied with furikake smashed avo and topped with a crispy fried egg might be more your style.

Their Big in Japan set featuring a Grana padano scone paired with yuzu jam, honey mascarpone, and cold shrimp and salmon on the side sound delightful too.
