Mark your calendars. The next Hong Bao Draw will have a top prize of at least S$12 million. Here’s everything you need to know.
7 February 2025, Friday, will be one to remember for a lucky few Singaporeans. That’s the date the annual Hong Bao Draw will be taking place, giving away a top prize of S$12 million. After the draw, we will see a few more millionaires emerge, all newly minted in one fateful weekend.
Imagine going to sleep and waking up the next morning rich beyond your wildest dreams.
That is exactly what will be happening for someone in Singapore soon. It could be someone you know, someone you passed by yesterday, someone you’re related to – or that someone could even be you.
It’s a scenario that’s tantalising enough to make anyone sit up and take notice. And even though lotteries are engineered to be famously difficult to win individually, the fact that someone does win on a regular basis is enough to make even the most level-headed of us throw caution (and a few bucks) to the wind.
And that’s ok, as long as we’re only buying the occasional lottery ticket for fun, and not recklessly betting every last dollar we have and risking our financial health to do so. So in the spirit of entertainment, let’s have a closer look at what’s in store for us punters and all.

Will Hong Bao Draw 2025 be the largest top prize in history?
Well, it could well be.
For now, S$12 million has been allocated for the top prize. This could increase if the amount of bet wagered increases.
Singapore Pools has been known to add a certain portion of lottery ticket sales to the jackpot when sales exceed a certain level. In fact, this just took place during the first Toto draw of the year, held on 3 January 2025.
A sum amounting to 38% of ticket sales were added to the jackpot, ultimately increasing the top prize to S$11.6 million from the previously snowballed amount of S$8.2 million.
The enlarged top prize helped three lucky jackpot winners take home more than S$3.8 million each.
