HDB Season Parking helps Singapore drivers cut costs for home and work parking.
Living in an HDB flat makes parking easy and affordable. HDB residents and non-residents who work near HDB estates can get HDB season parking. It allows you to park your car for a full day for a flat monthly fee.
This guide explains everything if you live or work near an HDB estate and want to get HDB season parking. It will walk you through the application process, from how to apply and renew to how to transfer or terminate the season parking. Let’s dive right in.

What Is HDB Season Parking
HDB season parking is a long-term parking scheme in HDB estates. It allows you to park your vehicle in any car park in an HDB car park group that you’ve successfully applied season parking for. You pay a fixed monthly fee upfront for unlimited parking that month. Season parking is sold on a calendar month basis.
In this article, we will talk about these three types of HDB Season Parking:
Normal Season Parking
This is the season parking most drivers usually get. It is for drivers who want to park in the car parks of the HDB estate they live in or drivers who want to park in HDB car parks near their office.
Who Can Apply for Normal Season Parking
Everyone can apply for Normal Season Parking. However, since HDB car parks are primarily for people who live in HDB flats and need to park daily, HDB uses a priority system to allocate parking slots for car parks in high demand. Certain applicant groups (see below) get earlier access each month to apply for new season parking and renew their existing ones.
Generally, residents, tenants, and shop owners of the HDB estate are given priority over non-residents.
First Priority Applicant Groups
- First vehicle owned by HDB residents and authorised occupiers, tenants of HDB commercial and industrial premises, market and hawker stallholders, and employees of HDB’s shop or offices.
- First company-registered vehicle of HDB residents and authorised occupiers.
Second Priority Applicant Groups
- Second and subsequent vehicles owned by HDB residents, authorised occupiers, and registered shop tenants.
Third Priority Applicant Groups
- Others
Drivers applying for HDB season parking in a car park near their workplace fall under the third priority group.
How to Apply for Normal Season Parking
Whether you are buying HDB season parking as a resident or non-resident (e.g. work place parking), the application process is the same. However, the application start date differs for car parks with low and high occupancy rates.
Car Parks with Low Occupancy Rates
- You can apply from the 1st of the month.
Car Parks with High Occupancy Rates
- You will apply based on the open dates for your applicant group. Please refer to ‘Season Parking Priority Groups and Booking Dates’ below
Follow these steps to submit your application for new HDB Season Parking:
Step 1: Check Occupancy and Availability
First, search for car park groups located near your residence or workplace to assess the current availability of season parking based on published occupancy rates. For car parks with high demand (i.e., high occupancy rate), take note of the order of priority and corresponding application dates for your group.
Step 2: Submit Your Application via Online Platforms and Make Payment
You can submit your application using either of the two online methods below.

Season Parking Priority Groups and Booking Dates
As mentioned before, HDB uses a priority system to give out season parking slots. It helps to ensure enough slots for HDB residents living near the car parks.
If the car park you’d like to apply season parking for has a high occupancy rate, the date you can start to apply for season parking will depend on which priority group you fall under. The table below shows the priority groups and when each group can start applying each month.
Priority Group
|
Booking Date
|
1st Priority
(a) First vehicle owned by one of the following:
(b) First company-registered vehicle of HDB flat owners, tenants, and authorised occupiers.
|
Starts from the 1st of the month.
Season parking sales are on a first-come, first-served basis. It is advisable to purchase your season parking once it is open for booking, as the season parking sales will be opened to other priority groups in the subsequent days.
|
2nd Priority
Second and subsequent vehicles owned by flat owners/ tenants/ authorised occupiers/ registered shop tenants.
|
Starts from the 18th of the month.
Season parking sales are on a first-come, first-served basis.
|
3rd Priority
|
Starts from the 21st of the month.
|
Season Parking Monthly Charges
The season parking charge you pay depends on three factors:
- The number of cars you have.
- Tier 1 season parking rate applies to a resident's first car of the household. The resident must be the registered flat owner/ occupier/ tenant living in the HDB precinct/ stall holders of HDB shops and market stalls served by the car park.
- Tier 2 season parking rate applies to the resident’s subsequent cars and all cars of non-residents.
- Type of vehicle
- Location and type of car park
Generally, expect to pay a higher season parking fee for your second car, and if the car park you apply for is sheltered in the restricted zone.
The table shows the monthly season parking charges.

1 Sheltered car parks include multi-storey car parks, landscape-deck car parks, semi-basement car parks, basement car parks and sheltered surface car parks.
2 Equalised season parking rate is applied to precincts with grouping of surface and sheltered car parks.
* Applies to vehicles used for commercial businesses (such as vans, lorries and other light goods vehicles), exceeding 1,800kg in unladen weight. For such vehicles parking in a sheltered car park, its maximum unladen/ laden weight must not exceed 2,000kg. These vehicles must be able to fit in the parking lot.
Normal Season Parking Renewal
You can renew your season parking for up to 12 months. The date you can start to renew your season parking is based on the assigned booking date, depending on the priority group you fall under.
Season parking is meant for long-term use. You will pay the fee for the entire month when you renew it every calendar month. It means that even if you are late renewing your season parking, you will still have to pay for a whole month.
For example, if you renew your season parking on June 15th, you still pay for the full monthly season parking charge of June. There is no pro-ration of cost.
Here are the ways to renew your season parking:
Auto-Renewal via GIRO
|
This is the renewal method with the most cost savings. You will get a 2% rebate for each successful GIRO deduction.
Please refer to HDB’s season parking renewal procedure to get details on,

This can be done using credit cards (Visa or MasterCard issued in Singapore).

Normal Season Parking Transfer and Termination
Permanent Transfer
You can transfer your existing season parking to another car park group or vehicle using the Permanent Transfer e-Service. Common reasons for doing so are when you permanently change your vehicle or move to an HDB estate of a different car park group.
You will have to pay additional fees if the transfer involves a change in vehicle type or car park type with a higher season parking rate.
For example, vehicle type changes from motorcycle to car; or car park type changes from surface car park to multi-storey car park.
However, if your vehicle and car park types are the same, there will be no additional payment or refund.
Temporary Transfer
Such temporary transfer of season parking is common in scenarios like your car undergoing servicing, and hence you are temporarily driving a replacement car, or you need to park at a different car park for short-term reasons such as your wife’s confinement.
You can temporarily transfer your season parking for a maximum of 31 days. To do so, submit your application via Temporary Transfer of Season Parking service or Mobile@HDB app.
You must pay additional fees if the temporary car park has a higher season parking rate. However, there is no refund if the new car park is of a lower season parking rate.
Termination
If you don’t need HDB season parking, you can submit a termination request online via Termination of Season Parking service or Mobile@HDB app and request a refund of any unused months prepaid. Processing takes around 2 weeks, and the refund will be credited to your bank account.
Family Season Parking (FSP)
Family Season Parking (FSP) is a long-term parking scheme for people who want to park in car parks near their family members’ homes. It is useful for young parents who visit their parents often.
As it is normal to visit more than one family member frequently, there is no limit on the number of FSPs you can purchase. However, the success of your application is still dependent on the availability of parking lots at your selected car park.
FSP costs only half of the Normal Season Parking. However, you need to fulfill some criteria to be eligible to apply for it.
Who Can Apply for Family Season Parking (FSP)
- You must be the owner, authorised occupier, approved subtenants of an HDB flat/ room, or an owner/ tenant of an HDB shop with living quarters,
- You must have a valid HDB season parking for your HDB flat/ shop with livin:g quarters.
- You must be able to prove your relationship with your family member (i.e., Parents/ Children/ Siblings/ Grandparents/ In-laws).
- You must be able to prove that your family member is living in the HDB flat/ shop.
It means that if you stay in private residential property (i.e., condominium), you will not be eligible to apply for FSP, even if your family member stays in HDB.
How to Apply for Family Season Parking (FSP)
The application process is the same as Normal Season Parking. You can use one of the two online methods below to apply for FSP.
It is important to highlight that not all HDB car parks are eligible for FSP. You'll find out if the car park you want to apply for is eligible when you apply.

Family Season Parking (FSP) Renewal and Termination
FSP Renewal
The renewal process of Family Season Parking (FSP) is similar to that of Normal Season Parking. Note that you cannot renew your FSP longer than your Normal Season Parking.
For example, if you renew your Normal Season Parking for 3 months from July to September, you cannot renew your FSP for 5 months from July to November.
FSP Termination
Unlike Normal Season Parking, you cannot transfer FSP. However, you can terminate your FSP at any time and request a refund on the unused portion (i.e., unexpired period). The FSP refund process is the same as Normal Season Parking.
It is important to note that you cannot keep your FSP if you terminate your Normal Season Parking.
For example, if you move to a private residential property and decide to cancel the Normal Season Parking of your previous HDB car park, you will have to cancel both the Normal Season Parking and FSP.
Temporary Parking for Bereaved Family Members
Family members planning to hold a wake at an HDB estate can apply for temporary parking at the nearby car park. Temporary parking is available for cars only.
How to Apply
Immediate family members of the deceased can visit any HDB Branch/Service Centre on weekdays from 8:00am to 5:00pm to apply. The applicant has to provide a copy of the deceased's death certificate as a supporting document.
