Best credit cards for dine-in & takeaway at McDonald’s
For starters, let’s talk about the best credit cards that you can use at the payment kiosks or counters when ordering your grub at McDonald’s.
💡 Pro-tip: To check for rebate eligibility, McDonald’s falls under MCC 5814 (Fast Food Restaurants). So read through your credit card’s T&Cs carefully to ensure this MCC isn’t an excluded merchant.
#1: Citi Cash Back Card
First on our list is the perennially-popular cashback card, Citi Cash Back Card. For a minimum spend of S$800 per statement month, you’ll be rewarded with 6% cashback on dining, capped at S$80 per statement month. Hence, this card is great if you prefer dining in at McDonald’s fairly often.
Although 6% on dining isn’t the highest cashback rate out there, it is a decent rate nonetheless – especially considering that it earns 6% cashback on groceries and 8% on all fuel spend plus private commute too, just FYI.

- S$1,200 for an Apple iPhone 16 Pro 256GB (worth S$1,1,749.00)
- S$1,586 for a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Titanium Gray 12+512GB 5G (worth S$2,128.00)
💡 Pro-tip: Did you know that it has an unlimited cashback card counterpart? The Citi Cash Back+ Card offers 1.6% unlimited cashback on all eligible spend, with no minimum spend or cashback cap.
Not to mention, Citibank always offers some of the best welcome gifts for their credit card sign-up promos, as seen below. 👀👇🏻 Even we can’t resist those deals ourselves!

#2: UOB Lady’s / Lady’s Solitaire Card
Last but not least, the UOB Lady’s Card and UOB Lady’s Solitaire Card are all the rage at the moment – and for good reason.
[Update!] Recently, both cards were recently enhanced from 10X UNI$ per S$5 spend to 25X UNI$ per S$5 spend on your preferred spend category(ies) if you pair your card with a UOB Lady's Savings Acount. In other words, this point rebate is effectively worth 10 miles per S$1 spend (10 mpd).
All other spend earns the base 1X UNI$ per S$5 spend or 2 mpd.
⭐ However do note, all UNI$ transactions are calculated in blocks of S$5 transactions. So for example, if you spend S$14.99, that’s only worth 30X UNI$ (60 miles) instead of 45X UNI$ (90 miles).
Although both cards earn the same points/miles rate, here are some key differences between them:
UOB Lady’s Card
|
UOB Lady’s Solitaire Card
|
Can only choose one bonus UNI$ category per quarter
|
Can choose two bonus UNI$ categories per quarter
|
Bonus rate capped at S$1,000 spend per calendar month
|
Bonus rate capped at S$2,000 spend per calendar month
|
Once you hit the spend limit on either card’s bonus points/miles rate, you’ll revert to the base 1X UNI$ per S$5 spend (2 mpd) rate on all subsequent spend, even if it’s technically a preferred category spend.

Best credit cards for online food delivery from McDonald’s
Don’t have time to eat in? Or maybe you’re simply too busy (or lazy) and want to eat McDonald’s from the comfort of your own home. In that case, you should take advantage of these credit cards.
Citi Rewards Card
Every avid miles chaser knows that the Citi Rewards Card is a holy grail miles credit card that is a must-have in anyone’s wallet.
It’ll offer you 10X Rewards Points or 4 miles per S$1 spend (4 mpd) on online food delivery, online & shopping purchases, online groceries, and ride-hailing apps like Grab or Gojek. Basically, it rewards you with points/miles on eligible online transactions.
Its points/miles rebate consists of:
- 1X Base Rewards Point (0.4 mpd)
- 9X Bonus Rewards Points (3.6 mpd)
This bonus rebate is capped at S$1,000 spend or 10,000 Rewards Points per statement month. Hence, once this spend limit is reached, your bonus rebate will be reduced and reverted to the base rate of 1X Rewards Point or 0.4 mpd.
To our knowledge, its online spend category only pertains to retail shopping and not to food orders as indicated on Citibank’s website.

Regardless, the Citi Rewards Card gets the job done by satisfying all your McDonald’s cravings via McDelivery from the comfort of home.

💡 Pro-tip: Pair the Citi Rewards Card with the Instarem amaze Card to earn an extra 1 InstaPoint per S$1 (worth 1% cashback) in foreign currency transactions. This is called double-dipping rebates.
Something to remember if you ever eat Maccas overseas. 😉
Best credit cards for dine-in, takeaway, and online food delivery from McDonald’s
Want the best of both “dine-in and food delivery” worlds? These are the credit cards that fulfil both types of McDonald’s orders.
#1: OCBC 365 Card
If you’ve ever paid at a McDonald’s payment kiosk before, chances are you’ve seen this popular cashback credit card making a featured appearance. The OCBC 365 Card lives up to its reputation as a reliable everyday spend card, more notably for dining as it offers 5% cashback on food delivery and dining.
You only have to spend a minimum of S$800 per calendar month and Bob’s your uncle. You’re guaranteed up to S$80 cashback per calendar month on all your transactions – so that’s S$80 back on simply indulging in McDonald’s, which is pretty worth it in our opinion.
Hitting the minimum S$800 minimum spend will see you earn S$80 cashback cap but if you are a big spender, hitting a S$1,600 minimum spend will unlock a S$160 cashback!
#2: OCBC Frank Card
Exceeded the monthly cashback cap for the OCBC 365 Card? Don’t worry, switch over to the OCBC Frank Card to effectively earn the same cashback rate with a higher cap!
While the OCBC 365 Card earns 5% cashback on dining specifically, the OCBC Frank Card earns 8% cashback on all eligible online and mobile contactless spend. It even earns an extra 2% cashback if your transaction is with selected green merchants – which by the way, McDonald’s is not considered as one.
Nevertheless, this 8% cashback is valid with minimum spend of S$800 per calendar month, capped at S$100 cashback per calendar month. This cashback is further broken down into S$25 per category, so that’s S$25 cashback limit on all your McDonald’s orders.
💡 Pro-tip: If you like the OCBC Frank Card, you’ll also like the DBS Live Fresh Card. It follows the same cashback rate (up to 10%) and mechanics (5% base + 5% extra on select green merchants).
#3: Maybank Family & Friends Card
The next popular cashback card contender is the Maybank Family & Friends Card. This card finesses cashback and choice mechanics well by offering 8% cashback on five select categories out of ten – where dining and food delivery are classified as one category.
Similarly to the OCBC 365 Card, it requires a minimum spend of S$800 per calendar month and a S$125 cashback cap per calendar month. The only issue is that this cashback cap is split evenly between your five chosen categories – equalling a S$25 cap per category.
So, unfortunately, your McDonald’s orders will be subjected to a S$25 monthly limit in total cash rebate earned.
💡 Pro-tip: Designate the Maybank Family & Friends Card as your everyday spend card on other categories like groceries, transport, data communication & online TV streaming services, online fashion, entertainment, beauty & wellness, sports & sports apparel, and retail & pets.
Maybank Welcome Offer: Receive a Samsonite ENOW SPINNER 69/25 (worth S$570) or S$200 cashback when you apply for a new Maybank Credit Card and charge a minimum of S$1,300 within the first two months of card approval. T&Cs apply.
#4: UOB EVOL Card
Love being a total #madlad and relying on your phone for payment outside? Because who even pays with cash these days? If this sounds right up your alley, the UOB EVOL Card will be your best friend.
The UOB EVOL Card rewards 10% cashback on all eligible online and mobile contactless spend, with a minimum spend of S$800 per statement month, capped at S$80 cashback. This cashback cap is further split among three categories: S$30 per online spend and mobile contactless spend, S$20 on overseas in-store foreign currency spend, and S$30 per all other spend.
As long as you use mobile contactless methods like Apple Pay, Samsung Pay or Google Pay to tap at your phone at checkout or send in your McDonald’s order online for self-collection ahead of time, the cashback is yours.
Compared to the Citi Cash Back Card, this card has a lower and more achievable minimum monthly spend requirement. The only drawback is its cashback cap is significantly lower; in fact, it’s one of the lowest among the cashback cards in Singapore.
Thus, the UOB EVOL Card is more suited for young working adults or those early in their credit card journey – who have a hankering for McDonald’s every now and then.
🪙SingSaver Cash Quest🪙: Get 10x chances to win S$50,000 when you apply for participating Credit Cards. Apply for multiple products to increase your chances! Valid till 22 December 2024. T&Cs apply.
💡 Pro-tip: Enjoy annual fee waiver forever by transacting at least three purchases with the card per month.
#5: HSBC Revolution Card
Honestly, the HSBC Revolution Card is another card that needs no introduction. But for the sake of those uninitiated, the miles card is one of the best to use in Singapore.
It offers up to 10X Rewards Points, 4 miles per S$1 spend (4 mpd) or 2.5% cashback on online and mobile contactless spend for dining, travel, shopping, and groceries. Dining here refers to both dining and food delivery.
Essentially, the same mobile-tap-and-go principle as the UOB EVOL applies here – simply tap your phone at checkout or order food delivery via the McDonald’s app and those miles are yours.
The points/miles rebate consists of:
- 1X Base Rewards Point (0.4 mpd)
- 9X Bonus Rewards Points (3.6 mpd)
The bonus rebate rates are capped at S$1,000 spend or 10,000 Rewards Points per statement month. Once you exceed S$1,000 spend on your HSBC Revolution Card for that month, your point/miles earn rate will revert to the base 1X Rewards Point (0.4 mpd) rate.
So just because you hit the spend limit doesn’t mean you stop earning anything.
SingSaver Exclusive Offer: Enjoy the following rewards when you sign up for an HSBC Revolution Card:
Receive a Dyson SSHD 15 (worth S$699), a Dyson Micro 1.5kg Vacuum (worth S$599), S$199 Cash + S$200 eCapitaVoucher, S$400 eCapitaVoucher, or 20,000 Heymax Miles upon activating and spending min. S$500 by end of the following calendar month from the card account opening date. Valid till 2 January 2025. T&Cs apply.
Conclusion: Which credit card is the winner for McDonald’s?
For simplicity’s sake, we’d recommend choosing a credit card that rewards rebates for both dine-in/takeaway and online food delivery. Next, you’d want to think about whether you prefer cashback or rewards points/miles. Thirdly, you need to account for your monthly spending – are you a small or big spender?
Based on these three criteria, it’s easier to narrow down your ideal credit card choice for McDonald’s.
